About

At Springline in Menlo Park, Chef/Owner Greg Kuzia-Carmel runs Canteen (550 Oak Grove Avenue), a Californian-ized Wine Bar, inspired by his time living in Spain, featuring a seasonal menu of creative small plates, light fare, delicious cocktails (including non-alcoholic libations) alongside a bevy of delicious wines that drive value and craftsmanship. The creative, seasonally inspired menus are offered alongside a dining experience that is rooted in relaxation and fun while still delivering top-notch, old school hospitality.

At Canteen Cafe (1300 El Camino Real), we offer coffee shop classics, including pastries, baked goods, prepared salads and sandwiches, along with coffee drinks crafted in partnership with Sightglass Roastery in San Francisco. Conveniently located in the lobby of the Canopy work space, Canteen Cafe has a breezy, laid back vibe that is perfect to meet friends and colleagues, as well as take a meeting or enjoy the relaxing sounds of whatever is playing on our hifi record player.

Greg Kuzia-Carmel

At Canteen, Canteen Cafe, and at his Silicon Valley-favorite, Camper, Chef Greg Kuzia-Carmel’s ultimate goal is to make food that is first and foremost delicious. He infuses subtle influences from his travels and experiences into the menus at each concept paired with the region's access to beautiful product.

Throughout his long career, Greg has built an impressive resume cooking under Ken Oringer, Tony Maws, and Jamie Bissonnette (Craigie Street Bistro, Toro), apprenticing at the Two-Michelin star Mugaritz in the Basque Region of Spain, working alongside Chefs Eli Kaimeh and Thomas Keller at Three-Michelin Star Per Se in New York City, and working with Michael Tusk at the venerable Quince and Cotogna in San Francisco.
